Germany
Late nights, long chats, good friends, techno music, oat milk lattes, crystal blue lakes, späties and käsespatzle
Berlin
It’s hard to say for sure but I think Berlin takes the lead for favourite place so far. Maybe it’s because it’s so different from home yet still so familiar.
If you know me well, I love a day well spent meandering around a city. A yoga class in the morning followed by an oat latte, maybe a museum or a good lunch and finished with good friends and some dancing.
This city is something else. The sense of freedom and expression is contagious. Can highly recommend.
Flavours of Berlin
Vegan Ramen, dumplings with peanut sauce, bratwürst
Favourite ingredient
Blue cheese and tomato chutney
Favourite Restaurant
There is so much vegan food in Berlin and this Japanese is one of the best! Our friend Hidenori is an incredible chef and a member of the team there. The food was seriously delicious. Ramen full of flavour and sushi that is like art!

Great dumplings served with a delicious peanut sauce

Ohhh it is good to have a good Australian coffee! Great breakfast as well.
Art
Located in the centre of Berlin in a beautiful building, the Gropius Bau presents exhibitions of contemporary and modern art. The program changes so if you’re in Berlin check the schedule and see if it’s something you are interested in.
The building itself is spectacular. The gallery has a permanent section of 20th century’s art that is perfectly curated to show how art can reflect human perspective and values during this time in Germany.
Second hand
HUMANA Secondhand & Vintage
If you love vintage shopping, Berlin is the city for you. There are Humana’s all over the city. Filled with everything you could ever want.
Yoga
My teachers Bess and Tahl from Creature yoga are hosting a teacher training here in September. So I thought it would be nice to check out while we were here. The studio itself is beautiful and the teacher we had was very knowledgeable.
Allgäu
Heading into the alps in souther Germany was the perfect post-Berlin stop. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. Crystals blue lakes and mountain hikes. This place is beautiful. We were very lucky to have our beautiful friends Simon, Vipasana and little Annie show us around and take us to the best spots.
Flavours of Allgäu
käsespatzle, egg wraps
and vegan veggie stack
Favourite ingredient
Buckwheat seed mix
Favourite Restaurant
Hündeleskopfhütte
Located in the mountains above Nesselwang owned by the amazing Silvia. A vegetarian mountain hut with a whole lot of love. This is probably my favourite place we have eaten over the last 2.5 months. You have to hike for about 30 mins up hill but it’s well worth it for the food, beautiful people and the view. Famous for their käsespatzle and wraps. This place was a highlight of our trip. Thank you Silvia for having us.
